Christian Wings for the World
Over Spring Break, our school is required to do a week mission trip (Lab Week). My husband and I went to Christian Wings of the World and I got to go up in the airplane with Lionel Smith. I knew that if I asked if I could fly, I would most likely get the NO answer. But I didn't. Instead he jokingly said, "WHAT? A girl fly my plane? No!" But then he said I could. So I got in the tiny airplane and got to steer it a little bit before we took off, which was scary, but really fun. Then we taxid to the runway and turned the plane around and Lionel told me to feel the petals so I can feel what he was doing as we took off. When we got in the air, I got the privilege of taking pictures from above and then he showed me how to fly so I could take control. However, as he was showing me, the plane was going from side to side & then left and right. I started to get air sick but I sucked it up for a few minutes and I started to fly on my own. We were supposed to fly for about an hour and take pictures of Johnston shut ins and elephant rock, but I kindly asked if I could get down now before I threw up. Oh man! I can't believe I almost got sick because I could have gotten some pretty incredible pictures... but I couldn't handle it anymore. I guess it doesn't help looking through a camera as you are moving. haha! So here are some pictures. Enjoy!
The first 3 pictures of the airplane was of a Missionary from Haiti working on getting his pilot's license.
Right before take off :)
Trees were fallen
You might not be able to see people in this picture, but if you look on the roof of the hangar, you will see Geoff Combs, Isaac Enge, and AJ Barbee :)
During the week, I also got some pictures of people working hard on the hangar.
All to say, it was an awesome week!!! But of course, we had to have fun on our last day there, so we went to Johnston Shut ins with Lionel & Sara Smith! :)
Absolutely gorgeous here!!! I would go back in a heart beat if I could!!!
Have a great everyone!! Hope your day is full of blessings! :)
